Blow Me Up and Knock Me Down

Blow Me Up and Knock Me Down

With a group of friends, mostly teenagers, we squashed ourselves into a bubble from hips to past our heads. We were caged in with only a ball between the blueberries and the oranges. I was on team orange. I needed to score a goal to make the whole sweaty bone-crushing fun worthwhile. Find out if I made it on the video.

When I woke up the next morning I realised bubble soccer is a sport for teenagers. Our children went about their day with no visible creaks or bruises. I was a tender avocado. Seemingly tough on the outside, but the inside flesh all black and bruised and well past her sell-by date. Some weeks have been making me feel my age. This would be one of them. But, just like goat yoga, the laughs made the sore core worth it.

  1. That looks like so much fun. Even when you fell and couldn’t get up you were having a great time. Some people are content to compare apples and oranges. You compare apples and blueberries and avocados. That makes me proud to be #partofthetwelve.

  2. Yes. What Christopher said. I don’t know how you can come up with so many unusual things. Is Canada just so much cooler than the U.S. or are these adventures of yours common place if you just know where to look?

    • Yes. Canada is cooler 😉
Actually, I think most of this stuff you will find scatttered throughout the US. Toronto is just the biggest of our cities, so if there is going to be one place in Canada to open bubble soccer (or a rage room, or a snake zoo), it will be here.

  3. Does having big boobs and a bootie add or detract from the experience? Love it. Sorry to have missed it (Nuts!). But I’m glad you gals and pals got out to mix it up. I was envisioning a rolling field where if you toppled over, you’d keep going and going and going! 50 High Fives around

  4. Oh, this is hysterical! I was laughing so hard:). Reminds me of the time I played Whirlyball–couldn’t stop laughing then either. Maybe you should have a standing date for this sport:).
