Pitch My Book

Pitch My Book

Not pitch it out, actually ask an agent if they would like to see more of my writing in the hopes of representing me. Then they will pitch it out.

The purpose of going to the Writer’s Digest conference was threefold.

  1. Find out what it takes to traditionally publish a book. Steps (lots). Expectations (few). Timeline (infinite).
  2. Mingle with soon-to-be authours in the hopes of them remembering me when they are famous and saying ‘yes’ when I ask them to write a blurb for my book. I mingled. Now it is up to them.
  3. Pitch literary agents and get their feedback.

It was an eye-opening weekend. I am further along than I thought and further from where I need to be too. I thank ‘The Twelve’ and anyone else who hangs out here without commenting, for your support. I could not have got this far without all of you. The word blessed is too often used, but dammit, I’m gonna say I’m blessed. Hit unsubscribe if you have to. I’ll understand.

Also, don’t forget to head over to BluntMoms for the inside/behind-the-scenes review of what happened each week in my Turning 50 Like a Boss series. You saw it here first, but you have yet to know the whole story.

  1. Congratulations on having four agents interested in your book! Heck, congratulations on having put together a proposal you can pitch to prospective purchasers.
Going to the conference must have been fun too in spite of the insomnia.

  2. I’m so proud of you for doing this! I know I have no business taking ‘credit’ for your wonderfulness, but it still makes me feel great being (hopefully) one of your 12. Let’s hope at least one of your 4 agents takes you on. Maybe there will be a bidding war!!!!

    • Bidding war… the dream! Of course, you are one of the twelve! I also expect you will be the first to buy my book. You should take credit, Barbara. If no one was reading, I’d stop writing. I thank every pair of eyeballs every time I sit at the keyboard. <3

  3. I love you so much! You are such an amazing person and I am so happy we met!! Thanks for including me in the video! #proudofyou #rockstars

    • Proud of you back and thanks for starring in my video! I can’t wait until we have matching smoking jackets and whiskey snifters. I don’t like either but think they are required for old, established authors so I’ll suck it up. <3

Fabulous! Proud of you girl for putting yourself out there like a boss! Can’t wait to hear more about this book and getting my own signed copy. I’ll even pay for it. 😉

  5. Wow Kris! Congratulations. Remember us little people when you get famous.

  7. Oh, good for you! And best of luck. I do believe we all need that even in addition to talent. Sigh.

  8. Yay you! Progressive steps and these ones look huge! Awesome. Keep writing, keep revising, keeping living and loving. Cheers to your pitch book and awesome work!

  9. Wow, that is awesome! I’ll definitely buy your book, but I want a personal inscription!
