Friday F-Off: Poopy Brain

MY FRIDAY F-OFF

Some Fridays I will take time to tell you about something pissing me off.
Therapy for me. Mild amusement at my expense for you. Win-Win.

As you know, I have many stories about poop. But this is a new one.

My gastro-enter-ologist (‘enter’ – still makes me laugh), has told me that my gastro troubles are related to the head injury I sustained in December. I literally have a poopy brain.

My symptoms include not computing, not hearing, not understanding, not being able to read or concentrate and pooping. Odd.

This concussion is my general Friday F-Off. I have days when I feel like ‘normal’ and they can stretch back to back making me feel healed. Then I have a three day migraine out of nowhere.

When I went to the neurologist after my injury she wanted me to fill out a headache history questionnaire. I told her that I get the usual headaches 2 times per week.

IMG_0268‘What do you mean by usual headaches?’ she asked.

‘You know? Everyday headaches.’ I added.

‘What is an everyday headache?’ – really who is the doctor here?

‘The kind that everyone gets. Stress or dehydration headaches. You know?’

She proceeded to tell me that that is not normal. Headaches are not normal. I thought everyone had headaches? If you have them, they are, apparently, not normal. Get them checked.

The concussion has given me migraines. I knew that wasn’t normal, but turns out, I was probably having migraines my whole life without knowing it. I would just sleep when I had a really bad headache and I would play games with the light in my eyes. Trying to corral the light into an organized space. Again, not normal.

So my big Friday F-Off goes to Head Injuries (the new, fancy word for concussions). They suck!
